Under Construction…..

Glass Slipper Transformations

Whats new? I should be so used to this by now…after 10+ years…yet it sometimes seems so unsettling…as if I can’t get comfortable.

Today’s post is to let my followers know, if you cannot already tell, just like my home, this blog is under construction. I have switched from wordpress.com to wordpress.org as of yesterday and I see a lot of photo editing in my future. I will be making more changes as well with the layout. The theme I have chosen, although the same name “Hatch”,  is a revised edition and is a little different then the wordpress.com version. In the DIY world I live in, I will learn as I go, speaking of DIY, I have had quite a few people ask, “what does DIY stand for?” so for those of you who may not know, it simply means,”DO IT YOURSELF”, if you are like me and millions of others who can’t afford to pay someone to do every little job for you, around your home, and your property, you just learn how to do it yourself, as with creating this blog, I am doing it myself.

I am a newbie to this blogosphere and there is so much to learn. I have and will make mistakes along the way, but this is life and we are not perfect, but we can still be beautiful and learn from our mistakes. This is real life and I live in a construction zone, not only in my surroundings but I am always under construction as a person. I am trying to learn to be a better person, to be more patient, more considerate, more giving and forgiving.

Anyways, enough of that. I hope I haven’t lost some of my followers in this process, if your following by email, I think you are ok, but if you are a wordpress.com follower I may have lost you and I hope you will sign up another way.

We have been so busy around here yet I have not worked on any projects on this house since I completed the Front Porch Transformation and I feel like I am so behind. I have not put out a post since May 20th. I had decided early on I was going to post once a week, then on May 27th as I was constructing a new post, I was put on hold to get this switch over completed. So why the switch? Well, I hope someday to advertise on my blog and even open an etsy shop, as well. I know that I will not make a lot of money but I have found that I don’t need a lot of money. I also realize it could take years before I even make a little money, that’s ok too. I am having fun with this and that is what matters.

So you wonder,” What have you been so busy with?” well we had a wonderful Mother’s Day, I started a new walking regimen and then we began the“War with the Stickers” and the” Nutgrass in the Garden” and we had a niece graduate from highschool, then we had a target shooting get-together and of course there is all the little things that come with maintaining a home (cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking etc.) more on the war with the stickers. My poor husband has been digging up stickers and mowing in his sleep. We are on 21 acres (12 is coastal hay) and our yard around the house is about 2 acres, which Gary mows. Anyways more about this in my next post. I am going to try to get caught up and still edit my photos from my older post. Gotta get back to working on the house, DIY projects, yard etc.

Please feel free to comment, ask questions. Love to here from you  😉

My parents gave me an antique trivet (metal pot holder thIng) It looks very old, and on it says

“The hurrier I go the behinder I get”

    Doesn’t it feel that way…

Had a wonderful time at the shooting get together! Thanks Cindy and Gary

Cindy, I enjoyed the shooting get together! You certainly know how to throw a party. Your porch looked so inviting, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the target practice as well and didn’t even notice the stickers in the lawn; but, of course, I did keep my shoes on. Thanks for including me and giving me the grand tour of your lovely home.
